This year, the DDAF will be giving out a total of $250,000 in grants. The grant money can be used for a variety of purposes, including spay/neuter programs, educational initiatives, and medical treatment. If you are interested in applying for a grant from the DDAF, you can do so online. The deadline for applications is March 31st, 2020.

What is the Doris Day Animal Foundation?

The Doris Day Animal Foundation (DDAF) is a nonprofit foundation created by legendary actress and animal welfare advocate Doris Day. The foundation's mission is to improve the lives of animals through grants to organizations that promote spaying and neutering, veterinary care, and education about the humane treatment of animals. Since its inception in 1971, DDAF has awarded over $15 million in grants to animal welfare organizations across the United States. One of the foundation's primary focus areas is spaying and neutering programs, which help reduce pet overpopulation and euthanasia rates in shelters. DDAF has also awarded grants for low-cost veterinary care, disaster relief efforts, research projects, and educational initiatives. In recent years, DDAF has expanded its granting program to include international organizations working to improve the lives of animals in developing countries. Through its International Grantmaking Program, DDAF supports projects that provide veterinary care, spay/neuter services, and humane education in places where these resources are scarce. By supporting these efforts, DDAF is helping to make a global impact on the lives of animals.

What is the Grant For?

The Doris Day Animal Foundation (DDAF) has a grant program to support animal welfare organizations. The purpose of the grant is to provide funding for programs and projects that improve the lives of animals. The DDAF does not support individual pet owners, breeders, or commercial enterprises. The DDAF offers two types of grants: General Operating Support and Program/Project Support. General operating support grants are awarded to organizations that have a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status and are located in the United States. These grants are based on demonstrated need and can be used for general operating expenses such as salaries, rent, and utilities. Program/project support grants are awarded to organizations that have a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status and are located in the United States. These grants are intended to support specific programs or projects that will have a direct impact on the welfare of animals. Examples of eligible programs and projects include spay/neuter initiatives, adoption programs, humane education programs, and emergency medical care for animals in need.

How to Apply For the Grant

To apply for a DDAF grant, organizations must submit a completed application form, including a budget and project proposal. The organization must also have 501(c)(3) status and be located in the United States. Applications are reviewed by a committee of animal welfare experts, who will evaluate the organization's proposed project and its ability to promote the humane treatment of animals. Based on this evaluation, the committee will make a recommendation to the DDAF Board of Directors, which will make the final decision on whether or not to award the grant.
